World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) is observed annually on 17 September since 2019. It aims to raise global awareness about patient safety and call for solidarity and united action by all countries and international partners to reduce patient harm. Patient safety focuses on preventing and reducing risks, errors and harm that happen to patients during the provision of health care.

The theme this year is 'Medication Safety' with the slogan Medication Without Harm.

To commemorate this day, we are organizing a month long activities across the country and beyond ending in a virtual program on 17th September, 2022 from 3pm - 4:30 pm IST. Dr. Neelam Dhingra (Unit Head - WHO Patient Safety Flagship, World Health Organization) will be the Chief Guest.

A Pledge to Promote Medication Without Harm

To promote the theme of World Patient Safety Day 2022, CAHO is launching this initiative to sensitize all the stakeholders about the safe use of medications so that there are no unintended harms associated with its administration. This voluntary process will allow individuals to take a pledge to adopt Best Medication Safety Practices
