CAHO conducted its 9th CPHIC program at Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva, Kerala on February 21st, 2018.
Dr. Anuradha Pichumani from Chennai & Mr. Anil Kumar from Bangalore were the faculty for the same. Around 35 participants, a mix of nursing administrators, staff nurses, infection control nurses, quality managers, hospital administrators, CSSD managers from hospitals in and around Kerala attended the training program.
The participants were given an online course material and pre-test prior to the onsite training. The training program was a combination of lectures, exercises and hand on workshop. The topics covered included an overview of Hospital Infection control, Standard Precautions, Hand hygiene, Sterilization & Disinfection, Good Housekeeping practices, Linen & Laundry, Engineering controls, bio-medical waste management, Antibiotic stewardship, Surveillance of Hospital Acquired Infections, Composition & Role of Infection control committee, documentation requirements of the Infection control manual, etc. Each training module was followed by a group activity which was the highlight of the program and actively undertaken and appreciated by the participants
