The fourth Certified Professionals for Hospital Infection Control (CPHIC) training programme was conducted at Sree Renga Hospital, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu on January 9th, 2018.
Dr.K.P.Pichumani, Managing Director of Sree Renga Hospital, Chengalpattu welcomed the gathering. Dr.V.TArasu, President of the Chengalpattu branch of the Indian Medical Association and Dr.G.Balaji, Treasurer inaugurated the event.
Forty representatives from hospitals in and around Chennai, Madurai, Salem and Pondicherry (doctors, nurses and administrators) participated in the hands-on workshop.
The sessions were led by Dr.Anuradha Pichumani (Executive Director of Sree Renga Hospital,Chengalpattu) , Ms.Hannah Rajapriya ( Deputy General Manager and Quality Head,Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai) and Mr.Anil Kumar ( Associate Accreditation Coordinator, General Hospital Jayanagar, Bangalore).The essential elements of all the topics were comprehensively covered during the interactive programme from Standard Precautions to good Housekeeping practices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage to Pre-/Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) adherence, Hand washing techniques to Sterilisation & Disinfection, Linen management, Antibiotic Policy and Biomedical Waste Management.
The programme received widespread appreciation from the participants.
