With over four decades of rich experience across clinical, administrative, and strategic roles, she has consistently driven transformative initiatives in major healthcare organizations. 

Currently Associate Director – Medical Services at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, she has played a pivotal role in advancing quality standards, digital health, clinical governance, and staff training.

Dr. Atre’s pioneering efforts, including COVID innovations, telehealth integration, quality publications, and grassroots-level education, reflect her deep passion for making healthcare safer, smarter, and more accountable.

Dr. Prabhakar receives the Quality Champion Award 2024 for her 23 years of healthcare excellence, spanning clinical practice, quality, patient safety, and leadership in both academic and hospital settings. 

Her achievements include leading quality initiatives, accreditation journey of NABH & Joint Commission for Fortis Healthcare, and serving as NABH Principal Assessor. 

An esteemed academic, she's contributed significantly to healthcare education and process improvement. 

With an MBBS and a Masters in Hospital Administration, plus certifications in healthcare quality and management, Dr. Prabhakar's work has earned international accolades such as commendation for Asia Pacific region by the panel of judges of the ACHS International Medal 2023 and the Level-3 Qualitist designation, affirming her role as a key healthcare leader.

For her innovative strategies to implement quality standards in a rural neighborhood, enabling it to become the first SHCO in Tamil Nadu to obtain NABH accreditation.
