The International Exchange Internship Program is a prestigious global learning initiative jointly offered by CAHO and Aster DM Healthcare, UAE. The program provides aspiring healthcare professionals with an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to internationally acclaimed healthcare systems, quality and patient safety practices, clinical governance frameworks, and healthcare innovation within one of the leading healthcare networks in the UAE.

Purpose

Designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world healthcare excellence, the internship enables participants to observe, interact, and learn from experienced healthcare leaders and multidisciplinary teams across Aster DM Healthcare facilities in the UAE.

Selection Process

The International Internship Program follows a structured and merit-based selection process:

Eligibility Criteria

Internship Duration

The selected candidates will undergo a 90-day international internship program across Aster DM Healthcare facilities in the UAE, gaining valuable exposure to healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, clinical governance, hospital operations, patient experience, and international best practices in healthcare delivery.

Internship Stipend

AED 1,500

Selected interns will receive a stipend of per month during the internship period,
subject to the terms and conditions of the program.

FAQs
  • Who Can Apply?

    Students from healthcare-related disciplines who meet the eligibility criteria announced for the respective batch and have successfully completed their final year before the internship commencement date.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Successfully passed all semesters of the qualifying program.
    • Submission of a Clearance / No Objection Certificate from the respective University or Institution.
    • Candidates pursuing or having completed any of the following full-time postgraduate programs:
      • MBA in Healthcare Management / Healthcare Administration / Information Technology
      • Master of Hospital Administration (MHA)
      • Other equivalent healthcare management programs (as applicable)
    • Must have completed a minimum 2-year full-time postgraduate program.
  • Is participation in the National Quality Olympiad mandatory?

    Yes. Participation in the CAHO National Quality Olympiad for Students is mandatory, as the top national scorers are considered for the internship selection process.

  • How are candidates selected?

    Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the National Quality Olympiad for Students. The Top 10 National Scorers are invited for an interview, following which the final candidates are selected.

  • Is the internship paid?

    Yes. Selected interns receive a stipend of AED 1,500 per month during the internship period.

  • What is the duration of the internship?

    The internship duration is 90 days.

  • Where will the internship take place?

    The internship will be conducted across selected facilities of Aster DM Healthcare in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

  • Will accommodation be provided?

    Accommodation is not provided as part of the internship program. Selected candidates will be responsible for arranging and bearing the cost of their accommodation. However, CAHO will facilitate guidance and share relevant information to support participants in making suitable arrangements.

  • Who will arrange visa and travel formalities?

    Aster DM Healthcare will facilitate the issuance of the required mission visa for selected candidates. However, candidates will be responsible for bearing the costs related to visa processing, international travel, insurance, and other associated expenses. CAHO will provide the necessary guidance, supporting documentation, and coordination assistance to facilitate the process.

  • Are travel expenses included?

    No. Travel, visa, accommodation, insurance, local transportation, and other related expenses must be borne by the selected candidates. Detailed guidance regarding the required arrangements will be shared with shortlisted candidates prior to the commencement of the internship.

  • Will participants receive a certificate?

    Yes. Participants who successfully complete the internship program will receive a Certificate of Completion from the program partners.

  • Can students from any healthcare discipline apply?

    Yes. Eligible students from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, allied health sciences, healthcare management, and other healthcare-related disciplines may apply, subject to the eligibility criteria announced for the respective batch.

  • Does participation guarantee selection?

    No. Participation in the Olympiad provides eligibility for consideration. Final selection is based on Olympiad ranking, interview performance, eligibility compliance, and available internship positions.
